Founded in 1992, JFW, Inc. is a hands-on project management firm that has specialized in delivering projects with significant schedule, cost and quality constraints.

 

The JFW team includes Project Executives, Project Managers, Estimators and accounting personnel. In the past twenty-three years, the JFW team has completed over 250 projects totaling over $3 billion in construction management experience.

 

Prior to its inception, JFW’s Chief Executive Officer, James F. Wilson, provided project management services for various projects with Marriott Hotels.

Over the last 29 years, James ('Jim') Wilson has provided construction management and owner’s representative services by overseeing projects in excess of $625 million.   Some of these projects include the prestigious historic Hay-Adams Hotel in Washington DC, Congressional Country Club, home of the Annual PGA Golf Tour, as well as various projects for Sidwell Friends School. Sidwell’s Middle School was recently awarded the first Platinum LEED school certification in the country, being ranked the third highest LEED score in the country.

 

As founder and Chief Executive Officer, Jim sets company policy, develops relationships with state, local and municipal governments and performs research regarding the effectiveness of our service. Jim is a problem-solver and leading technological thinker.

 

As a Project Executive, Jim excels at collaborating with and providing owners creative solutions with their limited resources. He manages detailed project schedules identifying clear roles and responsibilities, and utilizes project estimating using state-of-the-art tools and resources and web-based collaboration tools for communication and project costs. These technical resources are effectively used in the preparation of feasibility studies, master plans, detailed budgets and schedules. Once the project parameters have been clearly established, he guides the owners through the zoning and permit approval process, which often includes hearings with county or city governments. Throughout the project, Jim participates in owner meetings to assure a smooth completion of the project. Recently, Jim saved Sidwell Friends School $3 million on their underground gymnasium through value- engineering while not compromising the Architect’s design or intent.
